Our Parent Company: Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is an employee-owned engineering design and facility consulting firm with almost 500 employees in eleven offices across the United States. Licensed in 41 states and with international experience, our projects range from small renovations to multiple building projects exceeding 1.5 million square feet. SSR is ranked 9th among consulting engineers by Building Design & Construction magazine and 187th among design firms in the United States by ENR magazine. Formed in 1968, SSR has grown into one of the leading consulting engineering firms in the country. With a resume of healthcare clients that we believe is without peer in the industry, SSR has become one of the foremost companies of choice to provide engineering services in the healthcare environment. Success and growth in the consulting engineering industry has also translated into the same type of growth and development of a similar expert reputation in the commissioning industry for SSR’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SSRCx. SSRCx, LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of SSR, Inc. While performing “commissioning” since the mid 90’s our first ‘official’ commissioning project was in 1999. In 2000, a separate business unit was formed, dedicated entirely to commissioning. In 1998, SSR commenced project commissioning services to further commit and dedicate permanent resources to focus solely on commissioning. This allows SSRCx to offer “Total Commitment” to building commissioning. From the inception of our formalized commissioning program in 2001, SSRCx has developed into a national leader in the building commissioning services industry. From our original staff of two, SSRCx has grown into a staff of 30 professionals dedicated to full-time building commissioning work. With approximately 300 projects completed, we can now produce a resume of work that separates us from our competition. Our record of client satisfaction is also unparalleled, with 80% of our business originating from repeat clients. Close contact is maintained with project teams during the execution of the commissioning process through our strategically-placed regional offices. Most recently, SSRCx formed the “Sustainable Solutions Group” which is dedicated entirely to addressing the emerging market of sustainable design and construction. The Sustainable Solutions Group provides LEED facilitation, sustainable consulting, energy modeling and retro-commissioning services. What makes us GREEN?

We believe the LEED certification process is about more than checking requirements off a list. Our first task on any project is to educate the owner, architects, contractors and engineers about sustainable design practices as they pertain to their project. We then map out the entire process as to better focus our attention not on delegating tasks, but fostering communications between each member of the design, construction and maintenance teams. Our greatest contribution to any project is not the certification plaque hanging in the lobby; it’s the confidence in knowing your building was designed, constructed and commissioned within established procedures for both efficient use of resources and environment friendly practices.
